Statuesque Salakwmana – 16″ by 9″ – Circa 1900 – price on request
$0.00
One of the most beautiful katsinam I’ve owned in 30 years. I refer to it as “statuesque” due to its large size (16″ by 9″) and its elegance. This is the much beloved female Sa’lako maiden as indicated by her white boots. I date this carving to 1900. It came from a Santa Fe gallery and before that from Janice Benjamin, retired owner of The Indian Store in Los Gatos, California. No restoration. A centerpiece to any Hopi katsina collection. I added the professional base because it needed to be displayed stably and with distinction. Price on request: buffalobarry@charter.net
