Sandra Suhu Sootukwnangw or Heart of the Cosmos – SOLD

Sootukwnangw or Heart of the Cosmos katsinam are rarely made. This fine version is by Sandra Suhu from Hotevilla. It is 11 3/4″ tall to the top of the star on the head. The red parrot feather adds another two inches. The katsina is wearing a white suede wrap. Very cleanly carved and painted as with all her work. It is signed on the base. I obtained this directly from Sandra. She is featured in our book, “Hopi Katsina Anomalies, the Unusual, Rare and Unique.” (Rio Nuevo Publishers, Tucson, 2024).
