Sandra Suhu – Heard Prize Winning Hoot’e Katsina
$675.00
This beautifully made Hoot’e katsina is by Sandra “Sandy” Suhu. This carving won “Second Place” in the Traditional category at the 2026 Heard Museum Katsina Market. Sandra was kind enough to share one of the two ribbons she received. Sandy is featured in our 2024 book, “Hopi Katsina Anomalies.” The details on this katsina are finely done. The figure is carrying a rattle in one hand and a bow in the other. He is wearing leather armbands and sash. The height is 9 1/4″ with the beautifully done feathers adding one more. It is a wall-hanger although it does stand stably. Signed on the base of the kilt.
