Phillip Vigil Puzzle Man in a Circle

Phillip Vigil is a Jemez/ Jicarilla Apache artist who is experiecing great success. He prefers not to title his paintings; He leaves the reactions to the viewer. I refer to this style of pen and ink drawing by Phillip as his “puzzle man” series. The piece is 10″ tall by 8″ wide and is signed in both the lower left-hand and right-hand corners. As you can see in photo 4, there is a slight color smudge next to the signature. The work came from Phillip’s studio with this feature.
