Otto Pentewa (1880s-1961) was one of the most important Hopi katsina carvers. He was the second to be recognized after Wilson Tawaquaptewa (1873-1960). This is a finely done carving of a Ma’lo katsina. It is 8 3/4″ tall with the feather adding 2 1/2″. The katsina comes with a professional metal base. It came from the collection of a California physician.
