Old Hopi Burden Basket – Ho’aphoya
$495.00
This Hopi burden basket, known as a Ho’aphoya, is quite old. I would estimate late 19th-early 20th century. It is made of the traditional burden basket material known as scrub sumac. The basket measures 7″ tall by 10″ wide by 7 1/2″ deep. The basket looks to have been used extensively as its dimensions are subtly distorted and uneven. Overall the structure is intact. The basket has an old white cotton loop which allows it to be hung on a wall.
