Neil David Sr. is a creative Hopi artist in many different media. These include katsina carving in the fine art and traditional styles, bronze sculptures, and paintings. This painting features a Hehey’a katsina up close and personal. Hehey’a katsinam travel with the Ogres. They commonly carry a lasso rope with which to capture ne’re-do-wells at ceremonies. This vibrant painting is 18 1/4″ tall by 14 1/8″ wide including the frame. The painting itself is 15 1/2″ by 11 1/2″. The painting is on canvas which is mounted on a board. It is signed in the lower left with his stylized signature. The painting was professionally framed by the Diamond Gallery in Baldwinville, MA.
