Mescalero Apache Beaded Whetstone Case – Late 19th C.

Beautiful, vibrantly colored Mescalero Apache whetstone case from the late 19th century. The case itself is 5 1/2″ long with beaded drops adding 3″. There are four drops attached to the middle of the case and four more to the bottom. There were a few beads missing on the drops which I had professionally restored and now it is fine condition. The top of the case lifts up as shown in photo 4 to permit insertion of the whetstone. There is no stone in the case. There is a leather thong attached to the top which allows the case to be displayed attractively on a wall.
