Mavasta Honyouti – Kooyemsi and Tsuku Clown – Ali/ Liston Interpretation – SOLD

  • Description

Mavasta Honyouti is known for interpreting mainstream U.S. pop culture with Hopi symbols. Here we have his ultra-clever interpretation of Muhammed Ali’s famous knock out of Sonny Liston. The substituted Hopi participants are a Warrior Kooyemsi (in Ali’s role) and a knocked out Tsuku Clown (in Liston’s). Who else would think of this?! The painting on wood is 8″ by 6″. It is signed on the back with his usual “MHonyouti.com”  The second photo shows the original photo of Ali celebrating over the knocked out Liston.
