Justice Tso Wakaskatsina or Cow

Justice “Juice” Tso often provides a creative twist to his katsina carvings. This Cow is no exception in that the left ear bears a livestock tag. I’ve not seen one of these before on the myriad of Cows I’ve had over the years. The carving has a lot of detail including abalone chips on the belt, a leather bandolier, a necklace, and separately added armbands. He is also holding a stick, which represents his front legs when he appears ceremonially. The carving is 10″ tall to the top of the horns with the feathers adding 3″.
