Hopi Canteen by Ellemae Talashie with Woven Strap

Ellamae Talashie is a Hopi potter who has been active since the 1970s. She appears in Greg Schaaf’s book on Hopi potters. This little canteen comes with a handmade woven strap with a traditional Hopi design. The design on the front is bold and well executed. She has the signed the piece “Ellamae Talahashie Walpi Village.” It is 3 3/4″ tall and 4 1/2″ wide. I bought this years ago at Cowboys and Indians in Albuquerque.
