Garrett Maho – Hopi Hemis Katsina Tile

Garrett Maho is the creator of this beautiful Hopi tile depicting a Hemis katsina. The tile is 6 1/2″ tall and 4 7/8″ wide. Garrett is from Sichomovi village and is a member of the Rabbit/Tobacco Clan. He began making pottery in 1996 under the mentorship of his grandmother, Marilyn Mahle, and his aunt, Gloria Mahle, and later worked with renowned traditional potter. Jacob Koopee. He has won prizes at the Santa Fe Indian Market and the Heard Museum Indian Art Fair with honors such as “Best of Pottery” at the Heard in 2018. The tile is signed on the back.
