Elegant Hopi Katsinmana or Maiden

An elegant, precisely carved and painted Katsinmana or Katsina Maiden. Beautiful coloration. Her butterfly whorl hairdo is dramatic. She is holding a traditional Hopi weaving and wearing an elaborate turquoise necklace and bracelet. The katsina is signed on the base, “Nuvahongnaya,” an artist I do not know. The carving is 8″ tall with the base adding 1″.
