Ed Seechoma Hen Katsina

Roosters are a frequently carved katsina by hens are not. For those of you who are city folk, roosters are adult male chickens, while hens are adult female chickens. I’ve only had a handful of hen katsinam over the past 25 years. How can you tell? Because she is wearing a female’s manta and white boots.

This Hen katsina is by master carver, Ed Seechoma. The katsina is 10 3/4″ tall to the top of the comb not including the elongated feather.
