1950s Hewto Katsina

This is a finely made Hewto katsina from the 1950s or 60s. It’s an early example of the move to ultra-realism. The carver has taken great care in making the sash, concho belt, leather garment, fox tail, moccasins, armbands, etc. The figure is carved up under the kilt. The katsina is 10 1/4″ tall and 3 3/4″ wide.
