Elegant-looking Hopi Palhikwmana, the “Water Drinking Maiden.” The simple legs with no feet, elemental body and tablita suggest an early date of 1910-1920. The carving is 10″ tall and 5 1/2″ wide. The professional base adds 1/2″. When I acquired her, she was missing the right side of her tablita so I had it professionally restored. The left side prototype made that process easy to be precise as to restoration. A beautiful example.
