Painting of Apache Gaan Dancers – Oliver Enjady – Mescalero Apache

$465.00

  • Description

This dramatic painting of two Apache Gaan or Mountain Spirit dancers is by noted Mescalero Apache artist, Oliver Enjady. I purchased it from him directly at the Heard Native Show in March 2026. His work has been exhibited and is in the collections of the Heard, Wheelwright, Southern Plains Indian and Clarkson University Museums. He also has been featured in numerous magazine articles.

This painting captures the evocative spiritual atmosphere of a night dance featuring Apache Gaan figures. The painting is acrylic on canvas-textured painting board. The frame is 12 ¾” wide and 10 5/8” tall. It is signed on the back “Enjady Mescalero Apache.”

Mr. Enjady was born in 1952. He participated in the PBS series “We Shall Remain” as a consultant and on-screen actor, and did the same on the Ron Howard film “Cowboys and Aliens.”
