Fred Myron Sr. – 1950s-60s Hopi Set of 10

For years I wasn’t able to identify the maker of these katsinam. Fellow dealer Brandon Bergeron sent me a link that confirms they were made by Fred Myron Sr. (1930-2002) from Kykotsmovi. This attractive set of 10 smaller Hopi katsinam range in size from 5″ to 7″. Fred’s carvings were often quite uniform with very distinctive hands and feet. They are well carved and painted. On a flat surface they stand on their own.
