Sandra Suhu Palhikwmana in Grinding Position

Sandra Suhu one of the most talented women katsina artists. This carving of a Palhikwmana is in corn grinding position. The figure has considerable, beautifully rendered detail. Note the complexity and subtle coloration of the tableta. She is wearing a hand-painted cloth garment and two necklaces. The carving is over 12″ including the feather and 8 1/4″ wide again including the feathers. The base is signed with Sandra’s mark and “2024.”
