Wilburt Talashoma Sr. Pooko or Dog

Wilburt Talashoma Sr. was a very talented carver. His work often had comic elements. This Pooko or Dog is one such example. Note the hilarious smiling head, oversized nose, pot belly, and gnarled feet. This dog is evidently older as he is walking with a cane. Wilburt Sr. was a brother to William Ingvaya Quotskuyva and father of Lowell Talashoma, Sr., both noted carvers. This figure is 8 1/2″ tall including the base. His signature is on the bottom.
