Wilburt Talashoma Sr. Mudhead Scene
$395.00
This is a very inventive carving by Wilburt Talashoma, Sr. It depicts five Kooyemsi katsinam and an oversized Hopi cloud design. The Mudheads are shown climbing up some sort of cliff or stone dwelling which has foot holds and different levels. The Kooyemsi at the top right is holding a much smaller child Kooyemsi. The back of this sculpture is just plain, stained cottonwood root. The carving is 7″ tall and 3 3/4″ wide. It is signed on the bottom. Wilburt Talashoma, Sr. was a noted carver for decades. His brother was William Ingvaya Quotskuyva and his son, Lowell Talashoma, Sr.
