Shawn Deel Yotse’e or Apache Matched Pair – SOLD

Exceptional matched pair of Yotse’e or Apache katsinam by Shawn Deel. At times he adds more details to his Traditional-style carvings than anyone else. These are armed with tufa-cast rifles with wooden stocks. As he told me, the shells on the wrist are from Hawaii. The conchos on the belt are hand cut and stamped. He used Grizzly Chicken feathers on the head to resemble hawk feathers. The small necklaces are Mediterranean coral and Kingman turquoise. These Apache katsinam are 11″ tall including the feathers. Note the hand-painted leather shields. The loin cloths front and back are painted leather, as are the cone-like helmuts. They are signed, “S Deel” on the bottom of the right feet.
