Ryon Polyquaptewa Rainbow Katsina

As shown in photo 2, I acquired a 1930s Rainbow katsina (on the left) a few months ago. On seeing a picture of it, Ryon Polyquaptewa created his own interpretation of the old example. He did a fine job. The height of his version is 10 1/2.” The Rainbow katsina is a Zuni figure who migrated to Hopiland. It is rarely carved. As shown in the final photo, Ryon has signed the katsina with a considerable amount of detail.
