$495.00

  • Description

In his book, “Following the Sun and Moon,” Alph Secakuku says that this katsina carries a torch signifying his responsibility as caretaker of fire. Alph says that Sola’wutsi “brings wild game to the village” and as you can see, he is bearing a rabbit on his back. Ray Naha is known for the exceptional detail on his katsinam. Note the three-strand turquoise necklace and the two three-strand beaded wrist bands. Note also the hand-painted cloth garment and cedar torch.  From the Joseph and Janice Day collection.
