Manuel Denet Chavarria – Exceptional Hopi Hunter Figure – SOLD
$0.00
Manuel Denet Chavarria is an innovative carver, who creates figures that no one else attempts. This is an extremely detailed rendition of what Manuel calls a “Hopi Hunter.” He is wearing a fully fringed hide garment and is holding many accoutrements related to hunting. In his left hand is a strung bow and, in his right, a fletched, metal pointed arrow. On his back is a hide quiver with two removable fletched, metal pointed arrows. On his right hip is a hide knife sheath with a removable knife that has a wood handle and a copper blade. He’s also wearing an elaborate hand-beaded necklace with a metal bird figure hanging from its center. And there is a wooden rabbit stick on his right hip. The piece is signed on the base with his Butterfly Clan symbol. The height is 10 3/4″ with the base adding 2 1/2″; overall height is 13″. Manny really outdid himself on this one!
