Kevin Quanimptewa Patgna or Squash – 10″

Kevin Quanimptewa is the miniature-meister but he also occasionally makes full sized katsinam. This is a Patgna or Squash katsina that is just under 10″ tall. Many Hopi katsinam represent life-giving plants such as corn, beans and squash. Well carved and painted: It’s not easy painting these undulating lines crisply. The katsina is signed on one foot “KQ” with a squiggle.
