Hopi Angwusnasomtaqa Poota or Coiled Tray – Early 20th C. – SOLD
$395.00
Here is a fine old Hopi poota or coiled basketry tray depicting Angwusnasomtaqa or the “One with Raven Wings,” commonly referred to as Crow Mother. The tightly coiled start and thick coils point to its early 20th C. origin. The design of black raven wings, body and arms with three fingers remain strong. The plaque is 14 1/2″ in diameter. There is some stitch loss at 2 and 5 o’clock as shown in the close-up photos. A strong piece of Hopi history.
