Exceptional Hopi Honan or Badger Katsina – Circa 1900

One of the more dynamic Hopi katsina carvings I’ve had. This Honan or Badger katsina is circa 1900. His face is utterly distinctive including the large knobby eyes and fierce teeth. He is quite large at 12″ tall with the feathers adding 2 1/2″. The professional base adds an additional inch. As shown in photo 5, the katsina can be removed from the base.
