Early Plateau Bag with Deer and Horses – SOLD
The tiny beads on this vibrant Plateau beaded bag suggest dating of 1910-1920. The bag has a lot going on with a buck and doe and two fawns, plus two horses who are close talking. The back of the bag is brain-tanned hide. The edging is red wool. The interior is a blue, grey, and black floral pattern. The dimensions are 8 1/2″ by 7 1/4″. It has its original hide handles. Overall, a sweet little bag. When I acquired this bag, it had a few beads missing. I had these professionally restored so now the beadwork is entirely intact.
