Early Hopi Hemiskatsina – 1900 – 1920 -SOLD

Stately, eerie-looking old Hemiskatsina from 1900-1920. The Hemis katsina is often referred to as the “Niman” or “Home Dance” katsina. This carving has a very simple form with considerable wear. I had the professional base added so it can be displayed properly. The height is 7 1/2″ with the base adding 1/2″. The yellow in the photographs is a flash effect; it is actually much more muted. The katsina has its original hanging string around its neck. A fine piece of Hopi katsina history.
