Darance Chimerica Pok or Dog Katsina

I acquire Dog or Pok katsinam whenever I can because I love dogs so much. This Dog katsina, aka Pok or Pooko katsina is by master carver, Darance Makwesa Chimerica. The katsina is 11″ tall to the top of the ears. The bandolier on his chest and back has tiny shells attached. As with all of Darance’s work, the katsina is precisely carved and painted. He is featured in our book, “The Great Tradition of Hopi Katsina Carvers, 1880 – Present.” The katsina is signed on the bottom of the kilt.
