Cerno Parrot Olla

This olla is by Joseph and Barbara Cerno from Acoma pueblo. For many years they were recognized as the best of the contemporary Acoma potters. They have won countless prizes at Santa Fe Indian Market for their mammoth ollas. Their pots are always thin-walled and their painting is beautiful and precise. This olla is unusual because it has a fluted edge – the only one I’ve seen by the Cernos. The dimensions are 10″ by 10″ . I don’t believe the Cernos are still making pottery due to advanced age.
