Aaron Fredericks Ahola – A Priest Katsina – SOLD

Superb rendering of the important Ahola figure by master carver, Aaron Fredericks. Alph Secakuku refers to Ahola as “a priest of high order.” He is one of the Winter Solstice katsinam who open the Katsina season. Exceptional detail on the feathers on the head, the shadowing on the upper garment, the accoutrements he’s carrying, etc. The carving is large at 16″ tall with the base adding 1 5/8″. It is signed on the base as shown in the final photo. Aaron is one of the most skillful of all Hopi katsina artists.
