19th C Apache Moccasins with Both Paint and Beadwork

A beautiful and unusual pair of 19th C. Apache tanned deer hide moccasins. This pair features both elaborate beadwork and a painted design. As shown in various publications on Apache beadwork and moccasins (e.g. Ferg, 1988; Green 2017) the combination of beadwork AND painted designs is rare on Apache material. This pair is 10 1/4″ long and 3 3/4″ wide. Fine condition, with only a few missing beads. The Apache aesthetic is always striking.
